Digital Citizenship
|
"Students need to be educated on how to be good citizens of their country and what their rights and responsibilities are as members of society. The same issues need to be addressed with regard to the emerging digital society, so that students can learn how to be responsible and productive members of that society."

"Digital Citizenship Boot Camp"
It is important for students in BYOD programs to understand how to be good digital citizens. The following Digital Citizenship Boot Camp is an in-class tutorial designed to teach and assess students' digital citizenship and safety practices. In this program, students will receive stamps on their passport after attending workshops by their teachers at each of the following stations: Digital Law, Scenarios, Cyber-Bullying, School Policy, and Netiquette. Lessons and handouts for the program can be found in the Digital Citizenship Boot Camp document below. Following the lessons, students are required to pass a test on the information presented at these sessions. After successfully completing the test, students will receive their Digital Driver's License (see below). If students are not following the rules, licenses can be taken away for 1 day, 1 week, or permanently. This is at the discretion of the teachers.
